Ups and downs for Van Venrooy KTM Racing in Switzerland

The Van Venrooy KTM Team experienced a valuable but inconsistent weekend at the MXGP of Switzerland in Frauenfeld, where conditions on Sunday were extremely tough due to rain, mud, and deep ruts.
In the EMX250 class, Aron Katona made a strong impression by setting the fastest time in qualifying. The young rider was clearly pleased with this performance and showed he has plenty of speed.
The first moto, however, proved difficult after a poor start and a crash in the opening laps. As a result, Katona had to fight his way back from the rear of the field but managed to recover well to finish 20th. In the second moto, he got off to a strong start with a holeshot. Although visibility issues prevented him from maintaining his rhythm, he still managed to finish 11th. While he is not yet fully satisfied, Katona looks back positively on the progress he made this weekend.
For Mattia Guadagnini in the MXGP class, it was a challenging weekend. On Saturday, he was unable to set a good lap in timed practice, leaving him with an unfavorable starting position for the qualifying race. After a poor start and issues with his goggles—forcing him to ride without them—he crashed. Fortunately, he was able to start on Sunday, but once again, his starts held him back.
On the muddy and treacherous track, Guadagnini struggled to move forward from the back of the field. Overtaking proved difficult and he did not feel fully comfortable on the bike. As a result, Mattia had to settle for 14th place in both the first and second motos. Despite the disappointing results, he takes the positives with him heading into the next race.
In the MX2 class, Noel Zanocz finished 24th in the qualifying heat after a heavy crash. On Sunday, he rode a strong first moto, finishing 13th. In the second moto, he came home in 18th place, gaining valuable experience under tough conditions.
The next MXGP will take place in the weekend of April 11–12, when the MXGP of Sardinia (Italy) is scheduled.
